Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson has reiterated his belief that recently captured ISIS jihadis should not face trial in Britain.
Alexanda Kotey and El Shafee Elsheikh were captured in Syria and there has been some debate as to whether they should now face trial in Britain.
But rather than allowing them to return, Williamson is standing strong, saying: “Do I want them back in the United Kingdom? No, I don’t.”
Speaking in Brussels, he has said: “They turned their back on Britain when they left Britain to cause destruction and commit their hateful crimes.
“We believe that justice should be done locally and they are no longer part of Britain. British people do not want to see them returned.”
This is the kind of no-nonsense approach the public want to see. So why have hundreds of ISIS jihadis already been allowed to return?
