The date is set. Next Tuesday, June 12th, MPs will vote on no less than 15 Brexit-blocking amendments put in the way by Europhile Lords, including one on the Customs Union.
It looks like high stakes, with ITV’s Robert Peston warning that the Tory Remoaners think they have the numbers to actually defeat Theresa May’s government.
As he points out: “Tonight the odds of her winning look slim – because rebel Tory MPs, led by Anna Soubry, Nicky Morgan, Dominic Grieve, Antoinette Sandbach and the rest, met and think they have the votes to defeat her.
“The point is that they, and Labour, and the Scottish National Party all want the UK to stay in a Customs Union. And they want a parliamentary vote on whatever Brexit deal she ultimately negotiates with the EU to be ‘meaningful’ in the sense that MPs should be able to instruct her to return to the Brussels negotiating table.”
And it appears that MPs are losing faith in the PM as well. A former May loyalist has even called for her to go after the votes in the House of Commons next week.
It has started. This from erstwhile May loyalist: “We can’t go on with TM for much longer. Her inability to show leadership or make a decision is creating a vacuum the remainers use to run riot in. Once the votes are over next week, she has to go!”

The PM’s Spokesman has said: “There are amendments which were passed by the House of Lords which are unacceptable which we will be looking to overturn.”
Independence simply must be delivered and the government must do whatever it takes.
If Remoaner MPs truly want to defy the will of the people, Conservatives voting against their own party’s manifesto on Brexit should be expelled, and an election called. The time for leadership is now.
