Terrorists who plotted bomb and knife attack received £800k legal aid

A group of terrorists who called themselves ‘the Three Musketeers’ were handed nearly £800,000 in legal aid.

Khobaib Hussain, 25, Naweed Ali, 30, Mohibur Rahman, 33, and Tahir Aziz, 38, were jailed for a collective total of 55 years after a failed bomb and knife plot.

They received the money to pay for solicitors, barristers and QCs.

The terrorists were planning a Lee Rigby-style attack and Ali was found to have a pipe bomb in the back of his car. A hatchet was also found with the word ‘kafir’ (non-believer) scratched into it:
