A 17-year-old girl was stabbed to death at an East London park yesterday evening.
The ambulance service responded to calls of a stabbing at around 21:00 yesterday evening, to a park close to St Neot’s Road in Harold Hill.
A girl was found suffering from a stab wound and died on the way to hospital.
A Spokesman for the Met has said: “Next of kin have been informed but officers await formal identification. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
“An investigation has been launched by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC).
“At this early stage, there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”
It comes on the same week that four stabbings took place in London within eight hours, including a fatal stabbing in Ilford.
Urgent action is needed and and the authorities need to adopt a much stronger approach. As a former gang member, Robert Bragg, recently said: “Giving tougher sentences will prevent people from carrying knives because nobody wants to go to jail for 10 or 15 years just for carrying a knife.”
