Priti Patel has resigned from her position as Secretary of State for International Development.
Patel said: “It’s been a privilege to serve in your department. Britain will flourish when we leave the European Union.”
She mentioned that her behaviour “fell below standards”.

Theresa May has said Israel and Britain have a good relationship but that relationship must adhere to conditions of transparency and openness.
May’s response to Patel’s resignation stated: “Now that further details have come to light, it is right that you have decided to resign and adhere to the high standards of transparency and openness that you have advocated.”
