Poll: AfD now most popular party in East Germany

The anti-establishment party Alternative for Germany is now the most popular party in East Germany according to a new poll.

AfD proposes to control immigration into Germany and poses a radical challenge to Germany’s Government made up of a grand coalition between the centre-left and centre-right party.

The CDU has dropped 5 points to 23% whilst the AfD has jumped by the same amount to 27% in East Germany.

The left-wing SPD has slipped into a meagre 4th place on 15%.

The new poll represents a major struggle for the establishment in Germany.
