Bracknell Conservative Association members have today passed a motion of no-confidence in their staunch Remainer MP, Dr Phillip Lee.
The Special General Meeting held today at 11am was held after enough local members petitioned the association chairman to call one in line with Conservative Party rules.
Westmonster understands that Dr Lee was not in attendance after publishing a statement a fortnight ago declaring the move against him was “entryism”. He has today, prior to the result of the vote, criticised the Leave.EU campaign for its involvement in facilitating the deselection campaign undertaken by local members.
Thank you. Your support is very much appreciated. Typical of @LeaveEUOfficial – happy to spread lies, hatred and intimidation but, like all bullies, they don’t like being challenged. The British public deserve a #FinalSay on #Brexit https://t.co/fcSJtXpq5h

The Leave.EU campaign have since hit back, saying: “This is what happens when you say one thing and do another.”
We did it! Number six for the deselection campaign as Bracknell Conservative members pass a motion of no confidence in Remoaner Phillip Lee.
He couldn't even be bothered to attend the meeting… This is what happens when you say one thing and do another! 👊

Like Dominic Grieve in Beaconsfield who lost a similar vote on March 29, Lee has said he will continue to stand as a Conservative MP, despite his local members making themselves heard in today’s ballot.
