Philip Hammond accused of frustrating Brexit

Philip Hammond has been accused of trying to “frustrate” Brexit by a fellow cabinet member as Tory infighting reaches boiling point.

The minister, who didn’t want to be named, said: “What’s really going on is that the Establishment, the Treasury, is trying to f*** it up. They want to frustrate Brexit.”

He added that Hammond is treating Brexiteers “like pirates who have taken him prisoner”.

It comes after a series of leaks, allegedly from Michael Gove, which claimed the Chancellor said driving a train was so easy “even a woman can do it” and that public sector workers were overpaid.

The 1922 Committee of backbench MPs have told the PM that “the membership are tired of self-indulgent ministers plotting or going AWOL on collective responsibility and that she should tell ministers this”.

Theresa May needs to get a grip. The cabinet’s leaking like a sieve and looks to be totally divided. Heads need to roll.
