Discredited former Chancellor and Project Fear architect turned London Evening Standard Editor, George Osborne, has admitted the Coalition got their immigration policy ‘wrong’ and that this was responsible for Brexit.
Speaking on BBC Newsnight, Osborne admitted: “On immigration we were promising targets we couldn’t deliver.”

He added that this allowed sovereignty “to be linked to immigration control and that was pretty lethal in that referendum debate”.
He also described Remain’s campaign as going “catastrophically wrong”.
Brexit now means that ‘tens of thousands’ net migration targets can finally be hit. The government needs to deliver.
