Mogg would beat any other leadership contender in membership vote, according to poll

New polling from YouGov has revealed that Jacob Rees-Mogg would defeat all likely Tory leadership contenders when put to a vote of the membership.

They’ve modelled one-on-one contests, with Mogg winning a ‘clean sweep’ of contests against Ruth Davidson, Sajid Javid, Michael Gove, Boris Johnson, Jeremy Hunt, Gavin Williamson and Penny Mordaunt.

As YouGov say: “Rees Mogg wins a clean sweep of all his contests.”

For instance, in a head-to-head with Ruth Davidson, Mogg would win 52-48.

This is all rather speculative given that it is Tory MPs who narrow the field down to two who then go forward to the membership vote.

We stand with Mogg for a clean Brexit. If you do too then support Westmonster and help us push for independence.

But the Tory grassroots clearly have a lot of Moggmentum.
