Following the departure of her two main advisers Nick Timothy and Fiona Hill, Theresa May has today appointed Gavin Barwell as her new right-hand man.
Barwell lost his Croydon Central seat at the election, but has effectively been promoted.
The appointment is a hugely controversial one for those of us who believe in Brexit Britain. Barwell wanted the UK to Remain inside the European Union and branded Nigel Farage a “bigot” and a “racist” who “hates modern Britain” in the run up to the EU referendum.
Doubt Ukip will welcome Gavin Barwell as Theresa May's new chief of staff given he called Nigel Farage "a bigot who despises modern Britain" pic.twitter.com/Uzk6ZCdf04

In case you thought Gavin Barwell was holding back by calling Nigel Farage a "bigot", he has also called him a "racist" pic.twitter.com/uVNjIreXHF

Speaking to Westmonster, Nigel Farage said: “This is the worst possible start. Gavin Barwell is a staunch Remainer who abuses those who want to control immigration.”
Theresa May’s prospects as a zombie Prime Minister don’t look any more promising after this latest debacle.
