Theresa May’s Government has conceded to France that UK vessels will no longer fish in Frech waters abiding by a French law prohibiting scallop fishing in the Bay of Seine during certain months of the year.
Both Government’s released a joint statement saying talks were “constructive”.
However, a final deal has not been reached and hinges on a “reasonable compensation package” for small UK boats which are set to lose out.
Last week dozens of French ships attacked 5 British vessels who were legally fishing scallops in French waters.
The UK Government seems to have given into the violent French tactics which included ramming boats and using flares against UK ships.
Since the attack British boats have voluntarily stopped fishing scallops in that area until a deal is reached.
Is there any other country with such weak leadership as in Britain?
