Kids young as 6 carrying knives in London

The capital’s horrific wave of knife murders is a result of a violent culture that is reaching kids at younger ages.

The Metropolian Police’s chief Cressida Dick was visiting a youth centre in Putney when a woman made it plain to her: “You are talking about teenagers carrying knives, but on the housing estate it’s six-year-olds that are carrying knives, because they think they won’t be stopped.

“You need to start there, in the primary schools – you need to tell much younger people.”

The way to end the way of violence is clear: increase stop and search, tougher sentences and a message that any carrying of knives will result in action, not more hand-wringing by politicians.

It would also be nice if London Mayor Sadiq Khan could be bothered to pull his finger out and get involved…
