Jacob Rees-Mogg targeted by Remain activists in London

Rees-Mogg is understood to have been leaving an event at the Friends’ Meeting House when he was harassed by a group with a megaphone as he approached his car.

One is heard saying: “In you go, you horrible little man. And take your fascism with you.”

A second individual then proceeds to throw what appears to be a bottle of water over Rees-Mogg as he enters the vehicle, much to the delight of those filming the incident who are heard cheering.

The activist then shouts: “Have a drink of water. It’s European water.”

Rees-Mogg appears to have taken it in his stride and is seen to be smiling defiantly throughout the incident.

In a comment for the MailOnline, Rees-Mogg said in jest: “It is not easy to turn me into a Tory wet.”

The incident is the latest in a number of attempts to intimidate and embarrass pro-Brexit politicians after Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage had a milkshake thrown at him during a campaign visit to Newcastle last week. It would appear Remainers are running out of arguments…
