Germany's Eurosceptic AFD closer than ever to becoming second most popular party

The anti-Euro, anti-mass migration AFD (Alternative for Germany) are edging ever closer to becoming Germany’s second most popular political party.

The SPD, led by Martin ‘United States of Europe’ Schulz are down to 16.5% in the polls – meaning they are now just 1.5% ahead of the AFD.

Given the European Union is so German-dominated, the prospect of a Eurosceptic force becoming the main challenger to Angela Merkel could have dramatic consequences for the future of the EU – and Europe as a whole.
