Former Head of MI6: UK can thrive outside of EU and remain big player

The former Head of MI6, Sir Richard Dearlove, has said that he is “personally happy to see us ceasing to be a member of the EU”.

Speaking to Sophy Ridge on Sky News he said that the issue at stake was “sovereignty” and that the UK has “never been part of continental Europe’s political ambitions to create a more federated union”.

Sir Richard was clear that the EU needs to “radically” change whilst describing Brexit as a “natural point of divergence”, insisting that he is “absolutely confident that we can survive and thrive” outside of the EU whilst still being a “major player in European geo-politics”.

More Project Fear nonsense about Brexit and security thoroughly debunked. A bright independent future lies ahead.
