Lord Digby Jones, the former Director General of the CBI (Confederation of British Industry) has said we need to be wary of a ‘tyrannical Parliament’ that wants to turn us into an EU vassal state.
“Just beware the tyranny of Parliament,” he told Julia Hartley-Brewer on her TalkRadio show,
“You’ve got something like 1,500 in the Houses of Parliament who look, by majority, to be overruling the wishes of 17.2 [sic] million people.
Lord Digby Jones: "Just beware the tyranny of Parliament which is like the tyranny of kings and dictators. Some 1,500 people look to be overruling the wishes of 17.2 million people to deliver a vassal state." Watch again ▼@JuliaHB1 | @Digbylj | https://t.co/sv3MZUm41c pic.twitter.com/QkNZxc3OJv

“The tyranny of Parliament is like the tyranny of kings, it’s like the tyranny of dictators, you’ve got to ensure there’s a representation aspect to it and not a personal view.
“Where I am very worried is that we could have a position where Parliament actually say: “I’ve done what the nation wanted. we’ve left the EU, that’s what you voted for…”
“Remoaners can say: “There you are, I’ve done what you’ve said, I respected you,” but what they’ve delivered is we’ve become a vassal state of an unelected and unaccountable dictatorship in Brussels.”
“I don’t think anybody, not even Remainers deep down, want that.”
