3 of the top 4 countries in the World Happiness Report are European countries outside of the EU, clear evidence that Brussels can give you the blues.
Non-EU Norway is now ranked as the happiest country in the world, followed in third place by non-EU Switzerland and independent Iceland. The only EU country in the top 4 is Denmark, sliding from first to second place. That sinking EU feeling.
The UK meanwhile is ranked at a lowly 19th on the happiness scale. We have a sneaking suspicion that Brexit Britain may surge up the rankings alongside our other non-EU friends in Europe soon though. 🙂
