EU plan to lock UK inside European Court post-Brexit

In a warning that a transitional deal will lock the UK inside the jurisdiction of the EU institutions, European Parliament Guy Verhofstadt has said that Eurocrats are currently planning to keep the UK inside the European Court of Justice even after Brexit.

Though the government’s current intention is to leave the European Courts in 2019, it is clear that the EU will be fighting during any transition period to keep the UK inside the ECJ.

This latest development comes off the back of a hushed up plot to keep the UK linked into the EU legal framework.

It underlines once more why the UK needs the clean, full Brexit that 17.4 million Brits voted for rather than a watered down transition. It would be an absolute disgrace for European judges to continue to have jurisdiction and control over Brexit Britain after we have departed from the European Union.
