EU elite eye General Election Brexit block

The President of the European Parliament has sought to turn the June 8th General Election into another referendum on EU membership, insisting that if enough Brexit blocking MPs are elected that the UK could stay in the bloc after all.

Antonio Tajani made the desperate plea, insisting: “If the UK, after the election, wants to withdraw (Article 50), then the procedure is very clear.

“If the UK wanted to stay, everybody would be in favour. I would be very happy.

“If tomorrow, the new UK government decides to change its position, it is possible to do.

“The final decision is for the 27 member states, but everybody will be in favour if the UK (reversing Article 50).”

Sorry Antonio, we aim to disappoint you. The country spoke on June 23rd and we’re Brexiting, like it or not. This will hopefully be reflected in the General Election result.

The EU’s love for seeking to reverse referendum results goes on!
