The European Union are briefing diplomats that a Brexit deal with the British government is ‘very close’.
Sources who attended a meeting between EU negotiators and national diplomats told Euractiv that talks were ongoing and focused on the Irish border, an issue that the EU have sought to make central to the entire negotiation.
Nigel Farage has accused the EU of ‘weaponising’ the issue and highlighted how the UK side had gone along with the ploy.
He also predicted that the final UK-EU deal will be ‘worse than Chequers’ – an outcome that would be totally unacceptable to Brexiteers.
Have the British government agreed to roll over even further to secure a deal with Brussels?
