The double endorsement is significant given both are among the relatively few Brexiteer MPs who held out and voted down Theresa May’s bad EU deal at the third time of asking.
Baker has said: “Boris has been crystal clear with me that we would leave the EU by October 31st, with or without a deal.
“We agree we should seek a set of relationships covering defence and security, an advanced free trade agreement including services, and covering a range of other matters, but not via this Withdrawal Agreement, which we are agreed is dead.
“Boris has said to me he is for a clean, managed Brexit.”
Whilst Priti Patel said last night: “I’ll back Boris Johnson to be our PM and make Britain greater by delivering Brexit.”
Boris is talking a good game, telling the Sunday Times of the £39 billion Brexit bill: “I think our friends and partners need to understand that the money is going to be retained until such time as we have greater clarity about the way forward.
“I always thought it was extraordinary that we should agree to write that entire cheque before having a final deal. In getting a good deal, money is a great solvent and a great lubricant.”
Johnson has been emphatic that with him as Prime Minister, the UK will leave the European Union on 31st October with or without a deal. But will he deliver?
