New YouGov polling has Nigel Farage’s emerging Brexit Party leading the polls nationally on 26%, some six points ahead of Labour and the Liberal Democrats in joint-second place.

It is the latest in a number of polls showing the Brexit Party as either leaders or runners-up in Westminster voting intention among the electorate.

It will come as some consolation to the party after last night’s slim defeat to Labour in the Peterborough by-election. It appears many who have switched to the Brexit Party for the European Elections are sticking with them for now.
By contrast, the similarly recently-formed Remain party, Change UK has paled into insignificance, now polling at 0% with Anna Soubry now leading the group.
