Brexit Britain will see a return to circulation of the blue British passport next year, government documents outlining the implications of a ‘No Deal’ Brexit have revealed.
The move will symbolise the return to independence for Britain following our formal withdrawal from the European Union on 29th March 2019.
Passports in the immediacy will still be issued in the current burgundy, however the new design is expected to be ready for newly-issued passports by late 2019.
Many Brexiteers including Mr Brexit himself, Nigel Farage, have taken issue with the current burgundy UK passport, seeing it as a symbol of Britain’s loss of sovereignty, particularly due to the two words sitting at the top of the current edition: European Union. No need to worry about that after March next year!
