Conservative leadership candidate Boris Johnson has once again insisted that the UK must leave the European Union on 31st October, warning that if the Tories “kick the can again and we kick the bucket”. Talk is one thing, but will he actually deliver?

At his campaign launch this morning, he said: “After three years and two missed deadlines we must leave the EU on October 31st.”
Boris argued that the UK “must do better than the current Withdrawal Agreement” whilst also saying that he is “not aiming” for a No Deal Brexit.
“Delay means defeat,” Johnson warned whilst calling for the country to “prepare vigorously and seriously” to leave the EU without a deal.
