Bomb explodes outside of Rome police barracks

A rudimentary bomb exploded outside of the police barracks in the San Giovanni district of Rome this morning.

The device exploded in the entrance at 5:30 am and is initially believed to be an intimidation tactic by the city’s criminals. Thankfully, there were no injuries.

Recently, police have made several searches and arrests against the gangs that are raging across the historic city.

Prosecutors have opened a file for terrorism on the incident. Investigations by the Carabinieri and the Investigative Unit of Rome are ongoing.
