'Allahu Akbar' Radicalised inmate attacks prison guards in France

A radicalised inmate has attacked French prison guards at a high-security prison facility at Conde-sur-Sarthe in Normandy.

The 27-year-old inmate reportedly shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ whilst carrying out the attack, according to prison staff representative Alassanne Sall.

Sall, from the Force Ouvriere Trade Union, has said: “It was truly a murder attempt. There was blood everywhere. The family-visiting unit was a battle scene.”

He has also described it as a “assassination attempt” and a “terrorist attack”.

Le Figaro report that the attack took place this morning at 9:45, carrying out the attack with a sharp instrument that left at least one of the guards seriously injured.

The prisoner was being visited by his wife. He’s serving a 30-year sentence for offences that include kidnapping leading to a death, armed robbery and condoning terrorism.

Another worrying example of dangerous Islamic extremism, this time within the French prison system.
