Nearly 90% of refugees in the Netherlands don't work

Almost 90% of the refugees that have received a residency permit in the Netherlands since 2014 still don’t have a job, according to figures from the Central Bureau for Statistics.

De Telegraf revealed the figures show that of the refugees who do work, only 15% are in full time employment.

Researchers claim the reason is because asylum seekers are better off on benefits than in work.

Immigration researcher Jan van de Beek agrees. He told the paper that anyone who takes up unskilled work will barely make more than they would on benefits.

Researchers also say that refugees taking up unskilled work are more likely to learn Polish from their co-workers than Dutch, something which “doesn’t necessarily contribute to integration,” according Dutch Council of Refugees spokesman Martijn van der Linden.

It was also revealed this morning that nearly 5,000 failed asylum seekers refused to leave the country last year.

Forum For Democracy leader, Thierry Baudet tweeted that this was a “serious failure” of PM Mark Rutte’s Cabinet.

He added that it was FVD’s policy to expel all asylum seekers who had been rejected and publish monthly figures detailing how many had been removed.

This is the epitome of a weak immigration/asylum policy. Mass unemployment and then the inability to deport those who have been told to leave. What a joke.
