The second biggest donor to the Leave campaign has revealed that he doesn’t think Brexit will happen.
Peter Hargreaves, co-founder of Hargreaves Lansdown, has told Reuters: “I have totally given up. I am totally in despair, I don’t think Brexit will happen at all.”
He donated a hefty £3.2 million towards the pro-Leave effort, including a letter that was sent to millions of homes.
Hargreaves went on to say: “They (Remainers) are banking on the fact that people are so fed up with it that will just say ‘sod it we will stay’. I do see that attitude.
“The problem is when something doesn’t happen for so long you feel less angry about it.”
Another Brexit backer, Crispin Odey, also told Reuters that he expects the UK to stay in the European Union.
Westmonster is not quite so sceptical. Leaving the EU on 29th March 2019 is in law, and has been promised by the British government time and time again. For it not to be delivered would be a historic betrayal of epic proportions and sensible politicians recognise that fact. But it is still alarming that big Leave backers can see Brexit being stopped just months before the country is due to leave….
