Bomb disposal experts were called to a takeaway in Bradford early this morning after firefighters discovered a ‘suspect package’ while tackling a fire in the shop’s basement.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said:
“Police were then informed that what was believed to be a suspect device had been found in the premises.
“Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officers were contacted and a number of people were evacuated while a cordon was put in place.
“The device was removed from the premises by EOD officers and made safe.”
This is the second time bomb disposal experts have been called to the takeaway in a fortnight. On March 7th, a bomb disposal robot was sent into the premises to make a ‘suspect device’ safe.
Two ‘suspect devices’ in the same shop? Something’s not right there…
