Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn and the party’s ruling National Executive Committee (NEC), could be planning to parachute his son, Seb Corbyn, into a safe seat, according to The Telegraph.
As Theresa May called a snap election, Labour’s NEC has the power to select the candidate for any seat it wants, without balloting local party members.
Corbyn Junior is apparently planning on standing in the Liverpool Walton constituency, after current MP Steve Rotheram announced his intention to stand down in order to focus on his Mayoral bid.
Politics increasingly seems to be about family dynasties inside the modern Labour Party!
UPDATE: Apparently the claims are not true. We will see…
I checked out last night the claim that Seb Corbyn wanted to become an MP in the coming election. I was told "definitely not".
