NHS announces fat camps for chubby kids...

fatty.jpgThough David Cameron yesterday asserted that the UK is quickly becoming a nation of fat slackers it seems that things may be looking up. According to reports, the NHS has resolved to solve the problem of child obesity via a 'pioneering initiative' that will see portly northern youngsters being sent to a summer 'fat camp'. The three year drive will attempt to correct around 2,000 horizontally challenged youngsters in total by teaching them the virtues of healthy eating, exercise, and good table manners.

Though the majority of the chubby kids in question will be from Rotherham, it is expected that similar schemes will be put into effect throughout the nation should it prove to be successful. The project, which is a collaboration between NHS bosses and the obesity boffins at Leeds Metropolitan University, will see that youngsters in need of the camp are given all the help possible, including support after the camp has finished to ensure that weight stays at a healthy level. One to one advice from specialists will also be available.

One in three of Rotherham's kids are reported to be overweight. Carol Weir, public health specialist at Rotherham Primary Care Trust (PCT), said the level of investment in the programme showed the "sheer strength of commitment" of health chiefs to tackle childhood obesity in the town.

Is it true that fat kids have no parents?
Why should I, who have had four "normal"children and who in their turn have produced five "normal" grandchildren, be expected to support, through taxes and a niggardly pension, the well being of fat kids who apparently have no parental guidance or care.

Gordon, you are loosing votes faster than you have lost the countries money.
You are easily replaceable, any of the fat kids parents would be as capable of running a country as you, but as to money......?
