David Icke: Was he right?

If you were still reeling from the excitement of our earlier post on David Davis' new found by-election competition David Icke, here's something to really tickle your willy, a documentary about him and his lizard theories. We'll happily go on the record as labelling most of it to be claptrap, however, it's definitely worth having a quick gander just so that you can view some of the bizarre ideas that people actually give credibility to these days. That a man like Icke can find himself being taken seriously on the political scene perhaps says more about us than it does him...

According to Wikipedia, Icke can pull crowds of up to a thousand people at a time in some parts of the world. Watching him speak he seems like a bit of an opportunist, but has the mad gleam in his eyes of a man who's convinced that he's right about things. It's pretty scary, but perhaps many of his followers believe in him because of the ways that he plays the role of pariah.
