Another bishop abashed...

Those pesky liberals are always causing trouble for somebody, it seems. Be it the owners of factories employing child labour, racists, sexists, or homophobes, you can just about guarantee that some snot nosed punk will come crawling along and attempt to put a spanner in the works. If the Bishop of Lewes is to be believed though, these interfering do-gooders have finally taken things a little bit too far - by waging a war on God!

The Holy Complainer, who goes by the more secular name of Rt Rev Wallace Benn, has accused such liberals of "tearing up the fabric of the communion", and requested that they be barred from debates over the Church's future. All those homosexual priests and liberal minded followers are getting a little too much to deal with, it seems. And as a mark of protest to this 'Conservative bashing', his (ass) Holiness has decided not to attend the Church's once a decade conference in Lambeth.

“The reason I don’t feel I can go [to Lambeth] is because I don’t think I can pretend to have fellowship with those with whom there is a broken fellowship. "

Though his statements actually make it all sounds very Lord of the Rings, what they actually do is delineate the increasing political divisions that are flourishing within the Church. It will be interesting to see how far these divisions lead followers.

When Westmonster spoke to God on the telephone this afternoon he stated that, although he was disappointed, he won't be taking the news personally.

"At least now there'll be extra wine and communion bread for the rest of us to munch on.", he chortled.
