Speaker's wife taxi case dismissed...

1424800173_1ca9e92a9f.jpgRemember the wife of Commons Speaker Michael Martin? She was the dirty broad who managed to whack up a massive £4,139.17 in taxi fares, paid for by tax payers in the form of expenses, which she used to go on shopping trips?!?!?!

Well, turns out today that the investigation into her claims has been 'dismissed' as it is perfectly in accordance with all known laws and is definitely 'not excessive'. Perhaps this is true if you're driving to the moon, sweet cheeks, but in our book, it still seems a bit extravagant...

The Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, John Lyon, said that all journeys undertaken by Mrs Martin were used as she went about errands to assist her husband - buying his favourite biscuits from Waitrose, getting her pubic hair shaved into the shape of a heart for Valentine's day, etc - and that everything was therefore fine and dandy.

Mr Martin has promised to ensure that his wife is a little more parsimonious in the future.
