Robert Mugabe calls U.S diplomat a dirty hooker

Robert Mugabe - never the most progressive of public figures - has labelled an American diplomat a 'prostitute' and insisted that any foreign interference in next month's run-off 'election' would not be welcomed with open arms.

Not only that - he's apparently prepared to throw U.S Ambassador to Zimbabwe James McGee out of the country entirely if he keeps on "meddling in Zimbabwe's electoral process''. That'd be the electoral process that involves intimidating, kidnapping, torturing and murdering your opponents, right, Robbykins?

Mugabe's bizarre tirade was printed in the Sunday edition of state newspaper The Herald:

"Zimbabwe cannot be British, it cannot be American. Yes, it is African. You saw the joy that the British had, that the Americans had, and saw them here through their representatives celebrating and acting as if we Zimbabwe are either an extension of Britain or ... America. You saw that little American girl [U. S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer] trotting around the globe like a prostitute."

Mixed metaphors aside - Westmonster doesn't exactly hang out with prostitutes on a regular basis, but we're pretty sure none of them are the 'globe-trotting' type - could this ranting and raving be proof that Mugabe is beginning to let the pressure of his situation get to him? Is he finally buckling to international pressure and a growing dissident movement right on his doorstep? Will this the last election he tries to hijack?

If it all gets too much, Mr. Mugabe, here's a tip: make sure the water is warm, and remember to cut lengthways rather than across.
