Ministry for Scripted One Liners

Punch and Judy round 2

180px-Punch_and_Judy_Thornton_Hough.jpgGordon Brown and David Cameron impugned each other's integrity during a heated debated at Prime Minister's Question time this afternoon.

Mr Cameron accused Mr Brown of being more concerned with his celebrity buddies than his political responsibilities, stating that the Prime Minister did nothing all day but sit around 10 Downing Street waiting for Shakira to telephone, or for George Clooney to pop round for tea.

Much to the PM's apparent amusement, Mr Cameron also labelled him as 'the PM who appeared on American Idol wearing more make-up than Barbara Cartland'.

In fairness it looked like Gordon was took it all in jest. His retort came along the lines of Cameron being all style and no substance, which is why all of his questions are concerned with such issues.

The incident takes place just a week after David Cameron claimed that he would like to put an end to the 'Punch and Judy' style of political debate that takes place in Westminster.

A video of the exchange can be watched here.
