What the Labour government roughly about as popular as a Scissor Sisters performance at an Alabama rodeo, they're going to seriously have to buck their ideas up if they want to stand even the slightest chance of winning the next general election.

Those nationwide polls will be upon us in approximately two years time, and it's a fair bet that both Labour and their arch rivals within the D-Cam army are working out exactly how they're going to pitch themselves to the public. Prime battling ground in all of this? The Party Political Broadcast, of course.

Thinking about this has put Westmonster in a misty kinda mood. That's why we're bestowing a gift upon you - Propaganda Nostalgia week, in which we take a look back at some of the most memorable, odd, baffling or downright hilarious Party Political Broadcasts to ever grace the British airwaves.

We're going to kick things off with a reminder of more bombastic times for Labour. April 1997, and - according to this video - the Tories are too busy engaging in bizarre synchronised dance routines to notice the fact that the UK has descended into some mad Ballardian dystopia. Ah, those heady post-Britpop days ...
