Propaganda Nostalgia - day four

Thursday. A wholly unremarkable day, notable this week only for one reason - it's day four of Westmonster's look back at classic, odd, baffling or confusing Party Political Broadcasts from years gone by. We haven't featured the Tories yet, so it's only fair that they get some exposure today. Here's Kenneth Baker talking in 1985 - yet looking like he has stepped out of a boarding school headmaster's office thirty years earlier - about why the Conservatives know exactly what's best for everyone. Best bit: the stressed out policeman oblivious to the phantom babbling at the other side of his desk.
