Friday arrives, then, and with it the final instalment of Westmonster's week-long peek back into the historical archives of that curious beast: the Party Political Broadcast. We've already featured a couple of Labour films, and we're picking up that Red Rose one last time for this snippet from March 1970. Bizarrely, it looks like the team behind this decided not to convey any sort of lasting or memorable message, but to stage a frankly Orwellian-tinged 'gameshow' which hurls facts and figures at the viewer, all accompanied by a jaunty keyboard jingle. The dawn of 'infotainment'? As Mark Cousins would say, 'see what you think ...'
