Ken Livingstone finds new job...

Thousands of Londoners are quivering in the throes of rapture today after hearing that Ken Livingstone has found a new job as a radio personality. The former London mayor is to host his own radio show on the capital's commercial network LBC 97.3.

After he was last seen to be lugubriously cleaning out his Thomas the Tank Engine toy trainset from London's City Hall, the news will come as a welcome relief for Livingstone supporters, many of whom were suspecting that his newfound life without power was to send him spiralling into an empty decay of dejection and despair.

Mr Livingstone will officially start his stint at the station from the end of next month, though he will be given a chance to test the waters when he appears on the station's breakfast show next week, hosted by Nick Ferrari.

As many readers may remember Ferrari caused outrage during the build-up to the mayoral election after he came out in favour of Boris Johnson and gave out Livingstone's telephone number on air. Dear, oh dear.

Livingstone has said of his new job:

"I'll be the perfect afternoon antidote to [LBC breakfast host] Nick Ferrari. You can detox with me."

Boy, we can't wait...
