Brown's picture to be placed in dictionary...

241876.jpgThere are rumours that the Oxford English Dictionary is to consider placing a picture of Gordon Brown next to the word 'delusional'. An Oxford University Press press release stated that:

"In our ever expanding age of multimedia consumerism, MTV, Youtube, and Google Images, it is only to be expected that the younger generations are to become more perspicacious regarding the deconstruction and decoding of image systems. We live in the most image-conscious epoch in the history of man and, for this reason, feel that it is high-time we updated our range of dictionaries so as to be assimilated into the Zeitgeist effectively. We are proud to say that the Prime Minister's picture will be one of the first that we use for this exciting project."

Their mysterious decision to use the Brown's picture next to the word delusional seems a little less nebulous after hearing the reports of him saying that Labour's defeat in the local elections yesterday "was bad but not a disaster". Historians have already noted his quote as one of the most mankind's most delusional utterances since Tony Blair said that he 'didn't have megalomania'.

The news comes after Labour were defeated by BOTH the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats yesterday, marking the party's lowest number of elected seats since records began about 40 years ago.

It was Gordon Brown's first electoral test as Prime Minister and one that will surely have myriad implications for the party's future.
