Numbers: the times they are a-changin'
Over at The Guardian they have a report on the latest opinion poll statistics concerning the London Mayoral Election. Surprisingly for some, perhaps most of all Ken Livingstone, they show that London's favourite anarchist has managed to overtake Boris Johnson and creep back into pole position.
According to the survey, conducted by Ipsos Mori, Livingstone now stands at 53% against Bojo's 47%. Naturally, these numbers may change depending on whether or not voters actually turn up to vote. Figures conducted by Unison, accounting for supporters that don't actually vote, place Livingstone at 41% against Johnson's 38%. Liberal Democrat Brian Paddick comes a close third place with 12% of the votes.
These numbers may be surprising to many supporters of Livingstone, especially considering this morning's news that he had reconciled himself to the fact that Bojo was going to defeat him.
Finally, regarding national politics, the latest figure by YouGov have shown that the Conservatives have taken an 18 point lead over Labour, a 21 year record.
No doubt this has something to do with the current state of the Labour government and their in-fighting. But will they be able to regain public trust before the next general election?
That's anybody's guess..

Nice that The Guardian speaks so well of Mr Livingstone. Even though, technically, you'd think he was not a Guardian sort of a person. (In favour of experiments on animals, having served as a vivisector himself) and so on.
And there's poor old Guido, site replaced with a 404 message. Oh, dear.
