Ministry for Chinese Proverbs
David Cameron and the curse of the masturbating monkeys..
In a pure moment of edification and spiritual insight, an old Chinese Master once looked upon the setting sun and said with profound awareness:
Once a monkey starts masturbating it cannot stop.
It was a wise and sagacious metaphor for the nature of human actions, something that has no doubt had a poignant impact upon international culture as a whole and has changed the lives of many people. It's a phrase that clearly demonstrates how our primitive instincts influence us to keep doing things that make us feel good or convince us that we're winning.
But perhaps if that same Chinese Master where around today he would be forced to put his message across in terms that were more politically sensitive. Westmonster would like to suggest the following update:
Should a Tory politician start complaining about 10p tax issues it is very unlikely that he will ever stop.
That's right, once again David Cameron is getting hot and bothered about the 10p tax problems. So much so that he is asking voters to 'punish' Labour through their voting choices. Fair enough if it's a genuine problem for the masses, but isn't he starting to take it a little far?
Every time we see him on TV of recent he's complaining about it or knocking on somebody's door and asking them for their opinions on the issue. It's quite clear that he feels he's on to a winner, but if he isn't careful he may lose his focus regarding other more important issues. And you know what they say:
If you keep complaining about 10p tax problems you're likely to go blind...

Chinese master also say: when Tory starts to talk about Labour tax policy, he is hiding his own lack of one. Or something.
