VOX-POPPED!
Brown 'worse than Blair', claim random people
Where would the world of politics be without arbitrary opinion polls? Probably concentrating on things like 'policies' or 'strategies' or 'ideas on how to save us from upcoming economic meltdown'. And, seriously - who'd want that?
Let's turn our gaze to a new meedja-friendly survey, then, which claims that a third of voters regard Gordon Brown as a 'worse Prime Minister' than his predecessor Tony Blair. 31 percent of the public, it seems, haven't been swayed by Gordon's arrival, and are frenziedly mumbling about the good old days, much the same as Michael Helestine whenever anyone mentions pit closures.
The survey - carried out by Populus - also reveals that the Conservatives have obtained a growing lead over Labour, polling at 39 percent as opposed to their rivals 33. The Lib Dems continue their Clegg-fuelled descent into irrelevance, dropping two points since the last survey to a measly 17 percent.
It isn't clear on what criteria Brown is seen to be 'worse' than Blair. Maybe those polled were asked who was the best at smiling, in which case we're dealing with a clear and obvious winner. Let's face it: as toxic as Blair's slashwound grin was, it still beats those attempts by Gordon to beam at the cameras and create a friendlier image.
Look, Mr. Brown. Your natural inclination is to scowl. We all know that. So why not embrace that sour expression? Given the daily loss of support for Labour, it's probably the only rational reaction ...
