Brown shrugs off Blair's 'loser' comments
Speaking at a press conference, the PM vehemently stated that he "wasn't bothered what that unctuous c*nt Tony thought or said", he was the boss now, and "it was too late for anybody to do anything about it". This was followed by a heart-rending rendition of the national anthem.
Actually, that's just our 'interpretation' of events: The truth, as reported by the rest of the media, comes in the unremarkable form of the news that Blair's office had made it clear that the insults were not an accurate reflection of what Tony had said and that, somewhere along the line, they had been misconstrued.
We're guessing that what Blair really said about Gordon made use of a few more expletives to add a dash of colour to the phrase 'liar and a loser'. Tony's office is just denying it so that a) Gordon doesn't punch Tony, and B) The Conservatives can't use it against Labour in the build-up to the general election.
Nevertheless, the news comes at a time when news of in-fighting within the Labour party is becoming a part of the nation's diurnal cycle. Gordon kept his cool though by saying that he wasn't bothered about gossip and was too busy thinking about the economy to let it get to him.
Tomorrow: more Labour in-fighting gossip as we reveal who has been stealing Jack Straw's digestive biscuits from the House of Commons tea room.

I do wish he had thought about it, properly, much earlier.
But I suppose that would have needed more than mouth and ego.
Maybe he forgot to read his job description or something..
