All you other David Camerons are just imitating

180px-Punch_and_Judy_Thornton_Hough.jpgDavid Cameron has admitted that, despite wanting to, he has been unable to avoid the 'Punch and Judy' style of debating that reigns supreme within Parliament; because a 'quieter tone' was ineffective when dealing with Gordon Brown.

The admission comes as a disappointment for many Cameron followers, especially after they came to believe in the manifesto that he outlined in his 2006 hip-hop single, 'Victory Speech (After Winning The Leadership of The Party)'.

For those amongst you who are unfamiliar with the lyrics, Westmonster is happy to review them for you:

"We need to change,
and we will change,
the way we behave.
Lemme hear you say hoh! (hoooh!)
I'm fed up with the Punch and Judy politics of Westminster,
Lemme hear you say yeah! (yeah!)
the name calling (uh-oh!),
backbiting (oh-no!),
point scoring (no-go!),
finger pointing (no-no!)."
Etc. *

It was a song that clearly outlined a desire for change. However, on Radio 5 4 this morning Cameron said that he had been unable to change anything:

"I will absolutely hold up my hand... and say you're quite right, this is a promise I have not been able to deliver - I 'fess up to you, if you like. Word."

The news comes as quite a blow to Westmonster as we were hoping that the days of out-of-touch, red-faced tossers yelling and jeering in the name of 'politics' might come to an end one day. For the forseeable future, though, it looks like the pantomime will be continuing its run.

Meanwhile your readers and anyone struggling with the yellow peril in particular may be interested in their recent shenanigans in Liverpool. Where they go beyond yahh-boo to fist fights, and clandestine meetings to "off" officers.
