Ziggy played in bars
Absolute top marks to the Telegraph Red Box team for digging up some dirt on the absurdly named Ziggy Macdonald, the Home Office's head of alcohol and anti-social behaviour (is that really his title?). The Telegraph boys have been keeping an eye on Ziggy's Friends Reunited profile:
The Daily Telegraph takes a keen interest in the drinking habits of Whitehall’s top officials. Therefore we were slightly startled to discover on Dr Ziggy’s Friends’ Reunited page that until recently he listed among his “interests” as Sweet Manhattans, The Atlantic Bar, [and] The Sanderson long Bar. For those not familiar with such hobbies, the Sweet Manhattan contains two whiskies, a sweet vermouth and a dash of Angostura Bitters. The Sanderson long bar is a favoured late night bar for premiership footballers keen on meeting the odd glamour model. Helpfully, Dr Ziggy also lists his own employment – “Now live in London, working in the Home Office - absurd!!”
Of course, Ziggy's biggest crime is still being a Friends Reunited user. We just searched for him on Facebook, but only got this intriguing reference to a Born on October 17th Group. Is anyone out there Ziggy's friend? And is he groovy enough for a Bebo profile?
