Wishful thinking at the Telegraph
Alan Cochrane at the Telegraph is dreaming wistfully of the day when Alex Salmond finally comes a cropper:
However, there are clear signs that Mr Salmond's run of success may be grinding to a halt. His plans to replace council tax with a local income tax has been widely ridiculed by business leaders and economists, who say that his sums don't add up.
Adding to his embarrassment are the facts that the Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs - the Inland Revenue to you and me - say that they can't , or won't, collect the tax and the Department of Work and Pensions say that if there's no council tax they won't hand over the £400 million per annum in council tax benefits that Scotland currently gets every year.
And not a single mention of Donald Trump anywhere to be seen.
