Meedja on the Insanity Pills

Where was Auntie?

Call us Daily Mail-reading pinko-crunching moaners, but isn't it rather odd that the BBC's Ten O'Clock News - just finished - made no mention of the accusations levelled at Ken Livingstone on the other side 90 minutes beforehand?

And wasn't it even more bizarre that BBC London News made no mention of it, either? Apparently plans for the shooting event at the Olympics is a bigger story than the misbehaviour of maybe the fourth or fifth most powerful politician in the country.

Now, was this oversight down to:

  • Crazed communists editing BBC news shows?
  • No-one at the BBC being allowed to mention a Channel 4 show on air?
  • The fact that the Ten O'Clock News is recorded in the afternoon to allow Huw Edwards to get home in time for his nightly haircut?
  • Sheer amateurism amongst the news team at BBC London?
  • All of the above?

As we said last week, the media seems to be turning on Red Ken. The media apart from the Beeb, that is. We wonder why?
